Help its cold and dry!
As the season gets colder and our skin gets dryer, the idea of a nice hot bath is something many of us have on our minds. There are many ways we can ‘spice’ up our baths to not only help relax us but soothe our dry, maybe even itchy skin.
The most touted add-in for baths for your skin is oats. Oats are amazing for many different skin concerns and to smooth out our skin. We suggest adding 1 cup organic oats (rolled, steal cut, etc.) to avoid any toxic pesticides from getting into your skin during the bath. In addition if you have a blender or a grinder, busting it up into a powder helps your skin to absorb it better. You could also add in a cup of spelt flour instead (or a half of cup of each).
Another amazing suggestion is before you get into the bath, rub your body down with an oil like coconut, olive or avocado. The heat from the bath water will warm the oil up and make your skin feel smooth as silk.
Maybe top off your bath with your favorite essential oil, a couple dashes of cinnamon spice (also great for skin), your favorite green tea bag and just let your mind relax as the spiced bath water soothes your skin. Dry Skin Bath Recipe
1 cup blended organic oats or 1 cup spelt flour (or half each)
Oil to coat your body
2-3 drops Favorite Essential Oil
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon spice
1 Favorite Green Tea bag
Soak in bath for at least 30 mins in warm water
Optional: Coat your skin with more oil once out of your bath for an extra layer before bed. Just make sure you wear clothes or have bed sheets you don’t mind gets an oil stain on it.
